Need a feel good song of the upcoming summer? But not the same old same old sugarcoated songs? Attila the Fun is what you need!

They asked if they deserved it, they definitely do! If I were to choose a song to listen to whilst I'm in Primrose Hill taking a big gulp of my raspberry cider, I would most likely to choose Mantis Toboggan. That crisp guitar tapping tone, backed by the smooth bass line at the start gives you that feeling that it's going to be alright.

Next track on the EP is the song called Seafloor. The only way I could describe this track is being "distorted good times". The grit on Dean's voice along side the clear, clean guitar just makes the song unique and pretty much a signature Attila The Fun sound. Without the grit, they would probably mistaken as an indie band. The vocals just what's makes it their own.

I could totally see them covering a Motion City Soundtrack song someday and nail it! Oh wait they have!

The vocals are can be a bit hit or miss, it's not your typical "la la la" song, it's gritty and shouty, which in a way gives the song it's charm. Warning, this band is not for the faint hearted, listen to it if you think you're a badass. If you like Motion City Soundtrack but with more edge (if you can handle!) then this band is what you are looking for.

3.5/5

This might not be for the people who don't like shouting vocals, but all in all, I would still listen to them, not only because I love raspy, rough vocals but also hats off to the instrumentalists, who knows how to do their thing
