We recently reviewed Planet Zero's brand new EP and were fortunate enough to catch up with the boys for an exclusive interview.
You guys have a lot of influences, who would you say was the first band you guys really got in to?
Benny: For me it all started cause of a german band called Madsen. These kind of rock music influences me a lot. Than in 2009 I got a CD from All Time Low! I noticed for myself this is something big! Since this i can’t stop listening their records and this has an massiv impact in our music I guess.
We recently reviewed your song “Home” and thought was awesome, what was the inspiration behind it?
We wanted a track that is catchy and stuck in your head on the one hand. On the other hand it’s mainly the Planet Zero soundtrack. It symbolise the place we want to live. Just fun, no compromises and your best friends around you and we hope everyone else join our community there. We would be happy to get all people we meet on the road to this place. At least for a few moments.
Do you guys have an favourite lyrics from ‘Origin’? Can you tell us a bit about the story behind the lyrics?
"It’s water malt and hop, what make the bottles pop“ from the song Zero Brew. It’s pretty funny cause we all like beer pretty much except Marius and so we wrote this in honor to an own beer we want to brew! We’ll give you a free one on every show we play.
Summer festival season is almost here, if you guys could play any festival, which would it be, and which other bands would be on the line-up?
In Germany it’s the Southside Festival cause it’s near our hometown and it’s pretty big. In UK we would love to play the Reading and Leeds Festival one day, cause some of our all time heros played or playing there. Like All Time Low, Paramore, Fall out Boy and soooo many fucking great bands more!!!
If you could collaborate with any artist dead or alive, who would it be a why?
Hayley Williams cause she is an awesome singer and just drives the fans crazy and us too.

Whats the craziest moment you guys have had in the band so far?
We tried a make a music video on our own and we failed sooo bad! But it was so much fun most of the time cause we drove crazy a couple of times and did so much really stupid stuff. Haha in the end everybody was basically just drunk. We had to shoot some of the scene like 20 times and it was still pretty bad. So we decide to make a lyric video for the song Home and come up with a well produced music video for Zero Brew later this year.
Whats the most important personal items you guys are going to take on tour?
Benny - A can of energy drink to get fit. Not really personal but really important for me!
Marius - Definitely my drum kit! It’s my baby nobody else is allowed to touch it. "Just kidding"
Danny - Condoms … I’m always prepared in case of
Ferdi - My mobile phone and some CD’s. I hate long road trips without music.
If you guys weren't musicians, what would you be?
Ferdi - Selling cars
Benny - There is no plan B
Marius - Something with math, maybe?
Danny - Gambler
Do you guys have any pre-gig rituals?
We just started to play live so we still have to find one! So out there if you have any suggestion let us know please.
