Castaway are a five piece band from Mansfield UK. There have the vocal technique of shouting and screaming , heavy guitars riffs and use of different rhythms .

Castaway new split Ep with Statutes is coming out 25th May 2015. Having three tracks on it out of six.

The three tracks by Castaway are loud, little room for quietness in the songs and always having something going on. The three tracks are called "Hexes" , "Milk" and "June 15th". The tracks have a simliar vibe to each other but there have their own meanings.

I want to talk personally talk about Hexes the, first song out of three by Castaway. It has a intro like the song "Everlong" by "Foo Fighters". The intro of guitar is short itself before everything else joins in, to give it a full effect to the song. In the verse & chorus, the vocals dominant the sound and make it into the genre there want.

I also want to talk about the song "June 15th". This song jumps more into, then having a guitar riff come in. The sound overall in this one, i feel is more balanced and has the use of more layers. The contrast in the sound and levels works well, making this song stickout more to me. There have a quieter part which goes on near the end of the song. Then the song slowly builds up, starting with drums and then having the first guitar come in. The lead guitar and vocals come in after. Personally this is my favourite song out of the three.

Overall i think this was pretty good. The songs are different in there own way, I would say there did try to make each song, as good as each other. There no song, that has less work then the last song. I am looking forward to there release.
