Layby are a 5 piece band coming from a far and distance place called Nottinham. If you need a Pop Punk band to get you ready for the summer. Then look no further and get ready.
There have released the new Ep, titled "Life's Great Illusions'. This is a 5 track Ep, with fast palm mutting and big breakdown downs. The sounds may dip down into quieter parts but the tempo always keeps up.
The First track on the EP, is titled "SoundCheck". This is just a full minute of instrumantel apart from the word "Soundcheck". The song from the start just blasts out and has no breaks. There is no room for peace and quiet.
The Second track is my favourite out of the 5. The track is titled "Chronic". This has an old Yellowcard(1997 - 2001) vibe to there music. The fast pace is kept all the way through the track, having palm mutes and then breakdowns. There have also sneakily put in 20sec's of voacls and guitar, which changes the mood of the song very quickly.
This band and there EP, reminds me of loads of 2000s Pop Punk music and also a lot like Neck Deep. There also have inflenuces from The Wonder Years and The Story So Far.
4/5
Even though this EP may sound like some another Pop Punk band, I am kind of looking forward to what there will release next. Will it be the same or will it have processed into a different type of music. I think that people should give them a like on facebook and keep an eye on there page.
