Heavy as hell, STRAINS are defiantly not for the faint hearted. With heavy riffs and gritty vocals, “Roots” showcases some really nice technical and rather melodic guitar work from Tom, layered underneath an emotional vocal performance.
Think early Bring Me The Horizon only a little less melodic. Finn’s voice is gruff, but will appeal to fans of heavier music such as Funeral For A Friends’s screamer moments (the end of 1% for example) and Devil Wears Prada. His scream is reminiscent of guys like Sean Smith from The Blackout, Ryan Mellor of Deaf Havana, or even Roughton "Rou" Reynolds of Enter Shikari.
The energy of this track ferocious, and I bet it would be quite an experience to see the guys playing this live, one can only imagine the mosh pit!

This song is a killer, really emotional and shows a lot of promise. Im excited to see how these guys progress. I would recommend checking out their song ‘China White (I’v seen you in Aldi’) which recently appeared on Small Avenue’s mixtap, as it shows a slightly more melodic side to the band in the intro.
